7 members appointed by the Governor and subject to senate confirmation. 6 members shall each serve for overlapping terms of 6 yrs and one shall serve for a term concurrent with that of the governor. 3 members shall be electors of the coastal parishes & representatives of the commercial fishing & fur Ind; the other 4 shall be electors from the state at large, other than representatives of the commdrcial fishing and fur industries. No commissioner may be a member of the legislature or hold salaried public office of employed by a public agency for compensation; persons serving for 6 years or more are not eligible for reappointment.
